Many of you already know much of our history. My wife Barb and I started American Road Shop in 2000 selling motorcycle travel gear on the web from our kitchen table. The business grew to a full retail and service shop selling leather, parts, apparel, gifts and artwork. We even had a coffee shop up front for our customers. But as the business grew it became extremely hard to find quality mechanics to service our customers. So in 2015 we scaled the business back to just the service area specializing in custom projects for a select group of customers. I grew up in my father’s tool & die shop and found my passion for welding and fabrication. Little did I know that many years later I would using this trade with another passion, the motorcycle industry. All fabrication for all projects is done in house by myself. Barb is still involved sewing patches for customers and helping me with the office end of the business. Although she has built a very successful Real Estate business of her own she still finds time to keep the back end of American Road Shop running smoothly.
Mike brings to American Road Shop over 30 years of motorcycle engine mechanics as well as an expert in John Deer Tractor service.
Mike and I have worked together since 2003 at American Road Shop. Mike is an expert master mechanic for all things motorcycle. He has always been my go to guy for any electrical issues and has really found a passion for the vintage British, German and Japanese bikes. But he is not just limited to the vintage bike, he also has an excellent knowledge of the early and late model Harleys.
Trikes and sidecars are another part of Mike’s portfolio. The two of us have collaborated on all American Road Shop trikes, sidecars and disabled rider retro-fit.
